ceilidh

kal"I n orig. Sc & Ir)
Informal gathering for music, dancing, etc. [Gael] |

Satisfied customer (wedding):
"... just wanted to thank the band for a fantastic
performance last Saturday. The music and calling were great and all of the
audience had a wonderful time despite a few suspicions about what this
Scottish dancing was (I think we have a few converts)"... |
Ceilidh dancing is an
important part of Twisty Willow's repertoire. Called dances have always been
used by the band as a way of mixing and involving audiences at weddings,
parties and corporate functions.
We quickly have everyone participating. No one needs to know what to do
beforehand. A fun occasion is guaranteed. |

Twisty Willow runs
Monday night classes in ceilidh dancing with the band playing live. These have proved extremely
popular with all ages. Highlights are the annual mid-winter and end of year
dances. Present and past graduates of the classes along with family and
friends get together for a
"knees up".
Check the Gig page for details if you are interested
in these classes |
